Chilp it!  shortens your URLs.
It’s fairly simple. You enter a way too long URL such as

http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=bowen,+qld&sll=-25.335448,135.745076&sspn=42.731392,79.101563&ie=UTF8&ll=-19.985086,148.257279&spn=0.022101,0.038624&z=15

and we generate a much shorter URL like

http://chilp.it/3a1fde

Copy that shorter link and paste it wherever you like. It simply redirects to the original URL.
